Our Global Leadership

Roger and Maggie Bruehl

Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Global Operations

Roger and Maggie Bruehl first became Campus Crusade for Christ staff members in 1970, shortly after they graduated from Illinois State University. Together they served in the Campus Ministry at University of Texas (Arlington) and Southern Illinois University. In 1972, Roger transitioned to become the area administrator for Campus Crusade ministries in Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

Six years after joining staff, the Bruehls felt God calling Roger to serve as executive vice president and general manger of his father's auto-glass company. While remaining a Campus Crusade associate staff member, Roger ran a growing enterprise that grossed $15 million annually. Over time Roger realized he could be putting that same energy into growing God's kingdom. "It is not about being more spiritual," Roger said. "It is about obeying God with a full heart."

In 1980 the Bruehls returned to Campus Crusade fulltime and Roger became the associate director of U.S. ministries. While continuing to serve as associate director, Roger also became the director of the Prison Ministry (1982-1985), the director of the Military Ministry (1989-1992), the director of Christian Embassy D.C. (1995-1996) and the director of Core Services at the headquarters of Campus Crusade. Then in 2001, Roger was appointed chief operating officer and vice president of global operations.

Roger and Maggie have four children: Rebecca, Jessica, James and Amanda. Maggie has served in many leadership roles within Campus Crusade including director of International Human Resources, national director of Mothers Who Care (1992-1994), facilitator for City Focus NYC (1996-1998), associate Director of CityConnect (1999-2001) and co-author of Leading a Child to Independence.
